Looking for a career change? Do you enjoy caring for others in a healthcare setting? Take advantage of the opportunity to become a state Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). Nurse Assistant Program is offered 3 times a year in February, May, and September. Part-time and Full-time programs are available.

    • 6-week program (220 hours)
    • 5 days a week, Monday through Friday
    • All day program 

     

    FULL-TIME SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday

      Monday - Friday      8:00 am - 4:30 pm
      Clinical 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
  • Part-Time Program

    • January and September
    • 13-week program (220 hours)
    • 4 days a week, Monday - Thursday plus some Saturdays
    • Morning and Evening available (See schedule)

     

    Part-Time Morning Program Schedule: Monday - Thursday plus one Saturday

    AM Theory 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

    AM Clinical 6:45 am - 12:00 pm

    Saturday Clinical 6:30 am - 12:45 pm

     

    Part-Time Evening Program Schedule: Monday - Thursday plus 5 Saturdays

    PM Theory 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

    PM Clinical 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

    Saturday Clinical 6:30 am - 12:45 pm

    NOTE:  NA students will be required to stand for long periods of time and be able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.

     

    Upon Completion of course objectives, eligible students will take the state Competency exam for State Certification.

  • NA Class Fee:

    $1000 (due 2 weeks before start date)

    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Pass TABE Placement Tests with the following scores:
      • Reading - 442
      • Math       - 449 
    • Submit an NA Application within the application window with the following documents:
       Have a valid government-issued photo I.D. (CA License required)
      • Have a valid social security card OR Individual taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart CPR card

     

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

    • Student selection is on a first come basis or until class is full.
    • Clinicals are held at various locations in Fresno and the surrounding counties.
    • NA students will be required to stand for long periods of time and be able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.

     

    Upon completion of course objectives, eligible students will take the state competency exam for State Certification.

  • The following will be required only AFTER you have received a Nurse Assistant Acceptance Letter.

     

    HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

    • CAE Student Health Questionnaire
    • CAE Student Physical Form
    • CAE Immunization Form:
      • - 2-step TB Skin Test
      • - Flue vaccine (in season)
      • - Hepatitis B Surface Antibody (AB) Positive TITER
      • - COVID-19 and Booster (Both required)

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Background Check

     

    UNIFORM & SUPPLIES:

    • 2 designated Navy-Blue scrub tops, bottoms, and lab coat
    • All White Nursing Shoes (no canvas or tennis shoes)
    • Wristwatch with a second hand (no smart watches allowed)

     

    REQUIRED:   access to a laptop/PC and reliable Internet

    Cell phones and tablets are NOT acceptable

  • Step1:  

    1. Register for the TABE Test ($15)
    2. Register online only

     

    Step 2:

    1. Complete and submit a Nurse Assistant Application (see Download Documents) to the Nursing and Allied Health Department
