ABOUT CTE BUSINESS PROGRAMS

Looking to start a new career in the Business field?

Clovis Adult Education’s CTE Business Certificate Program offers an Administrative Assistant certificate, a Medical Assistant- Front Office certificate, plus individual classes and workshops that are aligned to industry standards. Both certificate programs provide in depth knowledge and develop expertise in: the Microsoft Office 2019 & 365 software suite, filing, data entry, computerized bookkeeping, research, effective communication, business ethics and customer service.

Prepare yourself with skills that meet the demands of today’s office environment. Both the Administrative Assistant and the Medical Assistant-Front Office programs eligible for the PELL Grant, a form of financial aid. ADMISSION POLICY FOR CTE BUSINESS PROGRAMS

When enrolling for a CTE Business program, the student must:

Show proof of a high school diploma from an accredited institution or an HSE/GED^® certificate
Pass the TABE test

ABOUT CTE BUSINESS COURSES

Want to update or improve your skills? Clovis Adult Education's CTE Business offers individual classes and workshops that are aligned to industry standards. New classes begin every 2 months.

ADMISSION POLICY:

Students must be 18 years of age or older.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

3 Consecutive absences or more than 5 non-consecutive absences within an 8-week session will result in being dropped from the course with a "discipline drop due to excessive absences.

Business Communications

Learn to communicate clearly in many forms: letters, memos, presentations, and face-to-face. Students will enhance their communication skills in grammar, editing, writing, spelling, vocabulary and correct usage of the parts of speech. Class presentation required.

Computer Basics I

This course is designed for beginners seeking to build a strong foundation in computing.

Learn Computer Basics: Gain confidence navigating your computer and managing software effortlessly.
Word Level 1: Create professional documents, format text and enhance your writing skills.
Keyboarding Proficiency: Boost your productivity by mastering the art of keyboarding.

Office Accounting

This 8-week course is designed to learn basic accounting theory for a single owner service business. Analyze and journalize transactions, post to ledgers, manage cash, prepare financial statements, and make adjusting and closing entries.
