Program Overview and Class Information

Just 40-hours of training to receive the Home Health Aide (HHA) certification, which allows servicing clients at home.  This will be advantageous, gratifying emotionally and financially.

The HHA Program is offered three time a year in May, August, and December.

HHA Class Information:
  • 40 hour program:
    • Theory: 20 hours
    • Clinical: 20 hours upon completion of Theory
  • 100% attendance is required
HHA Classroom and Clinical Instructions:
  • Health Education
  • How to provide health and safety assistance
  • Personal grooming assistance
  • Meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping for client in their home or in residential settings

Application Requirements

  • Must be 18 years
  • Must have ACTIVE Nurse Assistant Certification
  • Valid government issued photo I.D.
  • Valid Social Security card or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
  • American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification
    • Access to Laptop/PC and reliable Internet connection
    • Cell phones and tablets are NOT acceptable

Requirements Upon Acceptance

Requirements for the first day of class:
  • CAE Student Health Questionnaire
  • CAE Physical Examination Form
  • Negative TB skin test or Chest X-ray
  • Influenza (Flu) vaccine (in season)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine - series of 3 or positive titer
  • COVID-19 vaccine and Booster (mandatory)
  • Follow Clovis Adult Education COVID-19 guidelines
  • Be COVID-19 vaccinated plus the Booster for this program
  • Masks are strongly suggested
  • Solid colored scrub top and bottom
    • - Scrub top and bottom must be the same color
    • - No printed scrub tops
  • White nursing shoes (no canvas or tennis shoes)
  • Hair must be up and out of face
  • No fake lashes or nails allowed
  • Watch with a second hand (smart watches are not acceptable)
  • Stethoscope
  • Gait belt
  • Notebook and pens
