Culinary
This introductory Culinary Arts course provides students with a general overview of the food service industry and the fundamentals of food preparation in a hands-on learning environment. Students will explore basic cooking techniques, menu planning, nutrition, sanitation, customer service, and kitchen safety while gaining experience in a modern commercial-style kitchen. Instruction includes classroom learning, guided lab activities, and opportunities to assist with preparing food for school functions and events. This course is designed to introduce students to culinary arts concepts and career pathways rather than provide advanced occupational or career training.
