IV Therapy

The IV Therapy Certification Course is a post-licensure advanced skills training program designed for healthcare professionals who already hold an active qualifying Nursing license.

This course provides instruction and clinical training in intravenous therapy procedures within the scope of practice authorized by Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Techinicians (BVNPT).

 

Who May Enroll

Enrollment is limited to individuals who hold one of the following:

  • Active California LVN License
  • Active California RN License
  • Other healthcare professionals authorized by California regulations to perform IV therapy procedures

Proof of current licensure is required at the time of registration.

 

Important Information

This course is not an entry-level healthcare training program and does not provide initial licensure in nursing or allied health professions. IV Therapy training is considered an advanced or post-licensure certification that builds upon prior medical education, clinical training, and legal scope of practice.

Students are responsible for ensuring they are legally authorized to perform IV therapy procedures under their professional license and employer policies.

  • Approved by the BVNPT for 36 Continuing Education Units
  • Hours: 36 hours
  • Class Fee: $350.00

 

Additional Expenses

  • Certification Fee: $50.00
    Required by the BVNPT to officially authorize and link the IV Therapy certification to your nursing license.
