The following classes are required and provide a foundation of knowledge necessary to enter and be successful in CAE's Vocational Nurse program.
These classes are offered three times a year in January, May, and September.
BOOK:
- Books are NOT included in the class fee.
- Books are available for purchase in the Administration Building.
- Books are not refundable.
- For a list of VN Pre-Requisite textbooks, visit Bookstore and Textbooks.
NOTE:
- VN Pre-Requisite classes expire after 5 years.
- Must pass all classes at 78% or higher to be eligible for the VN Program.
- Must complete all classes before submitting VN Application.
- A software fee will be added to all card purchases.

- Class will start at the designated date and time, posted in the catalog/online.
- Must attend the first night of class or be automatically dropped.
- No refunds after the second day of class.
- Books are non-refundable.

If you are a current student or new student taking a CAE VN Pre-Requisite class, you will need to complete the following BEFORE class starts:
- Must have a school use only Gmail address. If not:
- Go to Google.
- Create an email address specifically for school.
- This gmail address will be used in the VN program.
- IMPORTANT NOTE:
- When creating school gmail, address must incorporate your first and last name.
- Example: franklopez12@gmail.com
- Purchase the required textbook(s) for your class(es).
- For a list of required textbooks, visit Bookstore and Textbook Information.
- Books are available for purchase at the Administration Building.
- Review VN Pre-Requisite class Schedule date and time.
- Register online.
- Show up to class on time.
- Must have a school use only Gmail address. If not:

- After registration is closed, your instructor will email you prior to first class.
- During your first class, your instructor will orient you to class procedures and go over the following:
- Class information and expectations
- CANVAS: how it works, what you need to look at, assignments, etc.
- Communication: if you have questions or if the instructor needs to communicate with you.
